A Note From Our Founder

Greetings, Carter cousins!

It was so great to see all of you who attended the TCS reunion at Gloucester last weekend....what fun it was !!! And to all of those who were not able to be there....you missed an awesome event. I must say again that this year's reunion committee [Betsy Carter & Bob Lumsden, co-chairs; Margaret Gunn, Ken Levine and Bob & Sandy Warren] put together such an exciting weekend with a great variety of events enjoyed by all ! It will be hard for the 2008 committee to top this one!

It was overwhelmingly exciting for me to see all the 'close connections' that have come about over the years that we've been getting together.....and even more so to see so many 'new faces' excited about meeting their new-found cousins and all that TCS is about. !

It was my great surprise, and indeed a great pleasure, to accept my new status as Lifetime Member. of the Carter Society, and I thank you all for this honor!

This, the Carter Society, is a 'dream come true' for me.....for twenty years I have worked towards bringing family together from 'far and wide', to learn about and to honor our ancestors, to walk the Virginia land that our ancestors trod, to see those places where our forefathers lived and to help understand their place in the building of our new nation, all the while greatly enjoying the extraordinary camaraderie of 'extended family', my Carter cousins!

Please be sure to check the website often for the posting of the dates for the 2008 TCS reunion....you will definitely want to mark your calendar and plan to enjoy another exciting and fun-filled weekend [I hear Charlottesville is 'under consideration! ] !

Love to you all, cousins!!
Fay
