Dues are $25 annually and coincide with the calendar year (Jan 1-Dec 31). However, at their June 2007 meeting, The Carter Society Board of Directors voted to reduce fees for certain categories of membership, as follows:

1. For those couples where both the husband and wife are Carter descendants, the application fee for the first applicant will be $50, and for the second, $25. Also the membership dues will be $25 and $15 respectively, for a total of $40 per year (a $10 savings).
